After the solvent recovery device is put into operation, two routine matters that determine its availability are spare parts and routine inspections: a shortage of spare parts can turn a minor fault into a shutdown; a lack of routine inspections can delay the discovery of hidden dangers until the equipment trips. Spare parts support and regular routine inspection services are to institutionalize these two matters, ensuring the device maintains stable operation between two major overhauls.
This service targets two types of customers: for those who have self-built devices but lack an operation and maintenance team, the inspection and spare parts will be undertaken by the service provider; for those who have an operation and maintenance team, the service provider will provide technical support and key spare parts guarantee, with the responsibilities and boundaries of both parties clearly stated in the agreement.
Spare parts are managed by classification based on their consumption characteristics: Vulnerable parts - sealing rings, filter cartridges, and packing, which have stable consumption patterns and are regularly stocked in the station, with the service provider replenishing them periodically; Periodic parts - mechanical seals of pumps, heat exchanger cartridges, and adsorbent materials, which are replaced based on operating hours or pressure difference, with the service provider providing advance reminders according to the account book and ensuring delivery within the agreed period; Key parts - compressors, fans, and control modules, which are high-value components with significant impact in case of failure, are stored in the service provider's regional warehouse, with urgent parts delivered within the agreed timeframe.
The spare parts ledger serves as the foundation for maintenance: it dynamically updates the installation location, replacement records, and inventory quantity of each spare part. The trend data of spare parts consumption also serves as a reference for assessing equipment status. If the consumption of a certain type of seal suddenly accelerates, it often indicates wear and tear on the shaft or cavity. Therefore, the inspection team should shift their focus accordingly during routine inspections.
Regular inspections are conducted monthly, each lasting from half a day to a day: review of operational data - comparing recovery rates, energy consumption, and alarm records with those from the previous inspection, with a focus on verifying drift items; on-site point-by-point inspection - inspecting pump vibration and temperature rise, pipeline sealing, condensing unit status, and instrument readings, scoring each item according to the inspection checklist; on-site handling - minor defects are addressed on the spot, while those that cannot be resolved are included in the maintenance plan with recommended solutions.
The inspection report shall be delivered within three working days after completion, including inspection results, comparison with the previous period, list of hidden dangers, and suggestions. With this report in hand, the station's maintenance plan will have a basis. A deep inspection shall be conducted quarterly, along with a verification of the pumping capacity and a system pressure maintenance leak check, which shall be linked with the annual maintenance plan.
The value of inspection services lies in their continuity: using the same checklist and the same benchmark for judgment, comparisons across months become meaningful. The trend curve of equipment status is plotted quarterly, enabling early detection and early arrangement of deterioration. Maintenance shifts from reactive repair to planned arrangement, with the station master controlling the downtime period and duration. The initiative in production is not lost due to equipment issues.
| service item | Content | deliverables |
|---|---|---|
| Monthly inspection | Data review and on-site inspection | The inspection report shall be delivered within three days |
| Quarterly in-depth inspection | Pumping verification and pressure maintaining leak detection | List of hidden dangers and suggestions |
| vulnerable parts | Standing inventory and periodic replenishment | Dynamic update of inventory ledger |
| Periodic part | Remind to replace according to operating conditions | Arrival and replacement records |
| critical component | Regional warehouse reserves | Deliver within the agreed timeframe |
| Annual Summary | State trend analysis | Suggestions for next year's maintenance plan |
Let's identify the shortcomings: the daily operation and maintenance team can cover the needs, but what is lacking is experience data on key spare parts channels and status judgment. In this case, signing a contract based on a combination of key parts guarantee and quarterly in-depth inspection is more cost-effective than a full-service contract.
Minor defects should be addressed on the spot. Those requiring machine downtime or special operations should be included in the plan and provided with suggested solutions. The boundaries between on-site repairs and planned repairs should be clearly stated in the agreement to avoid any temporary disputes on site.
Hierarchical management aims to control costs: low-value consumables are kept in stock, while high-value critical components are covered by regional warehouses, with the station only responsible for maintaining a small amount of standing inventory. Compared to the losses incurred during an unexpected downtime, the return on spare parts investment is clear.
