The Wohong organic gas vapor membrane is the core spiral-wound membrane component of the VOCs solvent resource recovery system. It relies on the principle of vapor permeation separation to achieve selective separation of organic vapor from inert components such as air and nitrogen. When the mixed exhaust gas containing organic solvent vapor contacts the membrane surface, organic molecules dissolve and diffuse into the interior of the special polymer composite membrane, preferentially penetrating the membrane layer. On the permeate side, high-concentration organic vapor is enriched by the vacuum system, while inert gases are difficult to penetrate the membrane and are discharged from the retentate side, completing the concentration and purification of volatile organic compounds and creating conditions for subsequent solvent liquefaction recovery.
The membrane material is made of self-developed solvent-resistant polymer composite materials, specifically developed for various solvent media in the pharmaceutical, fine chemical, and petrochemical industries. It can withstand alcohols, esters, ketones, aromatic hydrocarbons, halogenated hydrocarbons, and various hydrocarbon oil and gas media. Long-term exposure to organic vapors is unlikely to cause swelling and deformation, and it can maintain stable permeation flux and separation selectivity under conditions of fluctuating exhaust gas concentration and intermittent exhaust conditions. The membrane components are packaged in standardized roll-type packaging, with multiple specifications and sizes available. They are easy to disassemble and maintain, and can be used as a separate separation unit connected to complete exhaust gas treatment equipment, or combined with a condensation unit to form a condensation membrane coupling process, suitable for VOCs exhaust gas treatment projects with different concentration ranges.
When operating with the condensation membrane coupling process, high-concentration organic tail gas is first sent to the condensation unit, where most of the organic solvent vapor is cooled, liquefied, and collected. The residual low-concentration non-condensable tail gas after condensation is sent to the Wohong organic gas vapor membrane module for deep enrichment. The high-concentration organic vapor concentrated on the permeate side of the membrane enters the condensation device again for liquefaction and recovery. The obtained organic solvent can be returned to the production process for use after simple refining treatment. For medium and low-concentration tail gas conditions, the membrane module can be directly used to concentrate organic components, reducing the load on subsequent treatment units. During the project design phase, the number of membrane modules can be flexibly adjusted according to the on-site tail gas flow rate, solvent type, and emission indicators, adapting to continuous production exhaust and intermittent tail gas emission scenarios.
The entire membrane recovery process is a purely physical separation process without chemical reactions. It eliminates the need for frequent replacement of adsorbent consumables such as activated carbon and molecular sieves, and does not generate a large amount of hazardous solid waste. This process circumvents the safety hazards of spontaneous combustion inherent in adsorption processes, significantly reducing the cost of hazardous waste disposal. Equipped with an automated control system, it monitors inlet pressure, temperature, and VOC concentration in real time, automatically adjusting the operating parameters of the vacuum and refrigeration systems. It is suitable for fluctuating conditions in pharmaceutical workshops, chemical plants, oil storage tanks, and other settings. Before the exhaust gas enters the membrane components, a pre-treatment unit is required to remove liquid droplets, dust, and corrosive impurities entrained in the airflow. This prevents pollutants from adhering to the membrane surface, causing blockage of the membrane pores, delays in performance degradation of the membrane components, and prolongs the service life of the membrane components.
Wohong organic gas vapor membrane is widely applicable to various scenarios such as pharmaceutical active ingredient synthesis, vacuum drying, fine chemical reactor exhaust, solvent distillation tail gas, oil storage and transportation oil and gas recovery, and tertiary oil and gas recovery at gas stations. It can not only reduce volatile organic compound (VOC) emissions from exhaust gases, meeting environmental control standards, but also convert otherwise vented solvent vapor into reusable raw materials, achieving VOCs tail gas resource recovery and helping enterprises achieve both environmental compliance and cost reduction. This membrane element can be used with skid-mounted complete sets of equipment, featuring explosion-proof design to meet the requirements for use in petrochemical and pharmaceutical explosion-proof areas. The membrane module has a long service life and requires minimal routine maintenance, making it a stable and reliable core separation element in the field of VOCs resource recovery.
